The Cloud County Historical Society Museum, once an Andrew Carnegie Library, is located at the corner of 7th Street and Broadway. Enter through the doors of the newer addition along 7th Street.
It houses a large number of exhibits, artifacts, and objects: a full-sized Lincoln-Page bi-plane which hangs from the ceiling, a full-size windmill with working water pump, an iron lung, farm implements, military artifacts, wildlife and geological displays, and a recreation of a beloved local soda shop to name a few.
History comes alive in the stories found within the Museum. Find information on Boston Corbett, Marion Ellet, the Cloud County Bank Robbery by Ma Barker’s gang, and thousands of genealogical and newspaper articles about people and places that helped transform life for people in Cloud County. Around the corner of the block, you’ll find the Cloud County Museum Annex, which is the home of the Whole Wall Mural, houses several antique vehicles and various other artifacts, and Cloud County Tourism’s office.

The Cloud County Historical Society Museum hosts annual events as well as “Brown Bag Lunch Programs” in which a topic is covered uncovering the history of a place or person in Cloud County over the lunch hour. Bring your own lunch and enjoy discovering something new from our past. Museum curator Florance Girard and her staff and volunteers are happy to give guided tours and help with your research needs.
