Susie’s Kansas Trivia of the week:

 

Melvin “Tubby” Millar grew up in Portis, where his family often found him doodling cartoon characters.  In the 1940s he landed a job at Warner Brothers studio where he worked with world famous cartoonist Friz Freleng.  Although Millar had many different assignments, he spent most of his time drawing the star of Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies cartoons, Porky Pig.

 

 

Kansas Centennial display opens at Cloud County Museum Annex!

 

Five years ago, Susie Haver, Concordia, began collecting Kansas Centennial items in anticipation of the Kansas Sesquicentennial.  Stop by the Museum Annex to view her fun collection of over 50 items, including cups, plates, bolo ties, an ashtray and more.
