National Orphan Train Museum

National Orphan Train Museum

From 1854 to 1929 over 250,000 orphaned or abandoned children from New York were taken on trains to new homes all over the US. The National Orphan Train Museum is dedicated to preserving the records of the Orphan Train movement. The museum is housed in a restored UP Depot while the Morgan-Dowell Research Center houses the ever growing archives. Nominated as one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas-History, a visit will amaze and touch your heart like no other museum.
