SUMMARY:Kansas Supreme Court Special Session
DESCRIPTION:On April 11\, Concordia Junior-Senior High School has the once-in-a-lifetime honor of hosting the Kansas Supreme Court for an oral argument and public reception.\n\n\n\nAs part of its ongoing outreach to familiarize Kansans with the court\, its work\, and the overall role of the Kansas judiciary\, the Kansas Supreme Court conducts special dockets in different communities. We are honored to be selected as the host community this year. We see this as a tremendous learning opportunity for our students and the community.\n\n\n\nThis visit will consist of 2 separate events:\n\nFrom 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.\, Kansas Supreme Court Justice Melissa Standridge will host an informational and Q/A session. This event is open to the public. We will be inviting other schools in the region to learn alongside us.\n\n\n\nLater that evening from 6:30 p.m. to approximately 8:00 p.m. the public is invited to attend the special session to hear oral arguments in person in the auditorium at Concordia Junior-Senior High School. The public is invited to observe the proceedings as the court hears oral arguments in two cases. After the session concludes\, the justices will greet the public in an informal reception.
