SUMMARY:Cloud County Museum Open House
DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to join us on October 19th\, at 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a special “There’s Some Magic Going On” Open House at the Cloud County Historical Society Museum located at 635 Broadway\, Concordia\, Kansas. Please use 7th Street entrance. Come along for an exciting journey into the history of Cloud County with our engaging scavenger hunt and bingo games. Test your knowledge\, discover fascinating facts\, and explore the museum in a fun\, interactive way. Kids can take part in a youth scavenger hunt\, with the accompaniment of an adult. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners in both the adult and youth categories. Refreshments will be served.\n\nThe Museum’s own board president\, Bruce Graham\, “The Solution Guy”\, will perform a captivating scientific magic show during our upcoming open house. Combining his mastery of illusion with fascinating scientific principles\, Bruce will dazzle audiences with a performance that both entertains and educates. “The Solution Guy” has performed hundreds of times for 3rd grade through high school and even adults are amazed. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see magic and science blend seamlessly in a show unlike any other!\nAt first glance\, a science magic show and a history museum may seem worlds apart. One dazzles audiences with seemingly impossible feats\, blending science and illusion. The other presents artifacts from the past\, offering a window into human history. However\, if we look closely\, these two experiences share core principles that engage audiences in similar ways. Both are designed to inspire curiosity\, educate\, and create a sense of wonder\, making them powerful tools for learning and discovery.\n\nIn both settings\, this sense of wonder serves as an entry point to deeper exploration. Just as a magic show encourages us to learn the science behind the illusions\, a history museum prompts us to ask questions about how people lived\, worked\, and created in the past.\nDon’t miss this opportunity to celebrate our local history and enjoy a day of entertainment and discovery. Bring your family and friends—we can’t wait to welcome you! For more details\, please call us at 785-243-2866 or e-mail museum@cloudcountyks.org.
