DESCRIPTION:NATIONAL NIGHT OUT EVENTS SCHEDULED AUGUST 1ST ACROSS CONCORDIA\nWritten By: Toby Nosker Published Date: 07-28-2023\n\n\nSeveral neighborhoods in the City of Concordia are taking part in National Night Out on Tuesday\, August 1st. \nThis is the first National Night Out event in Concordia since 2019\, and is traditionally held on the first Tuesday in August. \nNational Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer\, more caring places to live.  Concordia Police Chief Brent Gering says National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. \n\nFurthermore\, Chief Gering says National Night Out provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. \nMillions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states\, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.  Neighborhoods host block parties\, cookouts\, and various other community events. \nTanya Paul with the Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVACK) says anyone interested in having some fun can join them at the Broadway Plaza in downtown Concordia.  Participants will plan a child activity and provide drinks and/or snacks at their informational table. \nParticipating agencies at the Broadway Plaza include DVACK\, Sunset Home\, Heart Choices\, NCK CASA\, Pivotal Health and Wellness\, Cloud County Health Department\, Walton and Associates\, LLC\, and OCCK. \nThe Hood Park Neighbors\, a resident-driven group that organizes numerous fun activities for the public each year\, invites you to join them for National Night Out. \nJanet and Larry Eubanks of Concordia also will hold a neighborhood block party on August 1st. \n\n\n\n\nFor more information about National Night Out\, contact the Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas at (785) 243-4349 or by email at tanyaj@dvack.org.
