It will be the fourth time Ken Church has performed as Mark Twain on the historic stage at The Brown Grand Opera House. Church’s last performance there was nine years ago when he gave a performance for The Cook Lecture Series. \nKen Church has been performing as Mark Twain since 1972. One might say that I have ‘aged into the part!’” Church says. Ken Church first performed his show at The University of Kansas at Stephenson Scholarship Hall for a political fundraiser in October 1972. DESCRIPTION:Join us on September 27th\, 2025\, at 7:00 am for our first NCKMC Fall Festival Run. We offer a 1-mile walk/run and a 5K walk/run. Our event is open to all ages and abilities. Pre-register before September 12th\, 2025\, to guarantee a t-shirt with your race registration. The registration fee is $25.00 for the 1-mile walk and $25.00 for the 5 K run. T-shirts can be purchased for $20.00 by contacting the race organizer. The race will start and end in the lower parking lot of North Central Kansas Medical Center. Race packets can be picked up the morning of the race\, beginning at 6:15 am at the race start.

Don’t miss the dedication of the placement of the Palmquist Rexall sign in the Cloud County Museum. Come for refreshments Saturday\, September 20\, 2025\, at 2:00 in the afternoon.\n\n\nThe celebration is in honor of a legacy that has thrived through three Palmquist generations. When fire ravaged the corner drug store in 1988\, the people of Concordia refused to let that sign come down offering a temporary location and even supplies from competitors\, enabling Palmquist’s to be back filling prescriptions in three days. Now that is a community!\n\n\nLess than a half century earlier\, Elmer Gustav Palmquist had returned to his hometown to meet the challenge of owning his own Rexall Drug Store in 1945. After all\, he had traveled throughout Nebraska becoming the top Rexall salesman in the nation. “Why don’t I put these brilliant ideas-like the Rexall 1-cent sale—to work in my own drug store?” He purchased Schmelling Drug Store and\, with a dedicated staff\, began to build customer loyalty.

A police detective\, arriving on skis\, interrogates the suspects: the newlyweds running the house; a spinster with a curious background; an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef; a retired Army major; a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift; and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. When a second murder takes place\, tensions and fears escalate.
