Missoula Children’s Theatre is BACK for another fun summer at the Brown Grand Theatre! Children entering first grade through eighth grade are invited to participate in the 2026 production of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” for FREE. Up to 60 local children will gather for one-week to memorize this musical adaptation and perform it on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at 3pm at the Brown Grand Theatre.
Show Synopsis: “Dress for success” is good advice that the Emperor takes whole-heartedly, wanting to impress new friends. But where to stop? When the clothes (and other people’s opinions) become more important than the people of the kingdom, trouble brews. To help their beloved Emperor find the way back to his heart, his true friends create an elaborate “birthday suit” for the Emperor to wear for his birthday parade celebration. The Emperor quickly and humbly learns that sometimes “less is more”!
Registration for this summer’s production will be available starting in May 2026.
Tickets for the show will be available at the door and are $10/per person; children 10 and under free.
Missoula Children’s Theatre at the Brown Grand is proudly sponsored by a grant from the Community Foundation for Cloud County.
